Friday Night After Six : Legion

Thursday is a busy day for me.  After taking part of a really big event, it literally takes all my energy.  The next day, I'm back to the office ready for more work.

Chapter 9 : Legion

Late again.  Dahil sa sobrang pagod, sumobra na naman ako ng tulog.  Noong una plano ko nang umabsent dahil sobrang sakit pa rin ng katawan ko but I decided to go to work because I need to be there for a site's preparation for Monday Launch.  I even texted Ann to inform Elaine about the site, kasi aalis sila ulit para sa second day ng event.  Good thing it just took me 1 hour to travel and I reached my office in time.

Nagmadali akong buksan ang computer after greeting some offciemates specially the creative people, Aileen, Pats, Monica, Jayson and my Boss Mike.  Binuksan ko agad ang Email dahil alam ko may mga nangungulit na dun after my one day of absence at the office.  As I read one of the emails, natawa ako at nainis at the same time.  Nyahahahaha.   Napostponed na naman yung launch ng site.  Ibig sabihin, wala na naman akong gagawin maghapon.  Petiks na naman.  Think it's a good thing?  Not for me.  I prefer doing something than nothing.  I get tired more easily without doing anything.  Kaya ayun, nakatitig lang ako sa monitor ng computer ko habang nakikipaglaban sa ibang heroes ng Facebook.

After a while, Mike approach me.  Yey!!!  May trabaho na naman ako though hindi ko rin naman siya mauumpisahan agad dahil siyempre kailangan pa ng project brief pero mas o k na yun para mayroon na akong mind set sa buong araw.

Lunch time with some officemates.  Pantanggal tensyon.  Sa paglalakad pa lang papuntang Jollibee, nakakaalis na ng pagod dahil sa mga walang hanggang tawanan sa daan.  Pati yung babaeng mukhang bakla pansinin ba.  Hahaha.  After a while sumunod sa lunch si Tina at Marg and after that balik again sa Opis.

Wala pa rin akong magawa kaya I decided to do something.  After several hours, Jill of MSS, aproached me for the mock ups brief for BDO.  After the meeting, balik ako sa ginagawa ko.

Maya-maya nagyaya na si Jayson (Jimenez).  Babalik pala silang Mag:Net.  Wrap up inuman pala ng Happy Slip Event.  Too bad I have my own plans for the night.  Para maiba naman.  Bumababa na rin ang Tolerance ko sa Alcohol kaya sigura, hinay-hinay muna.

Its past 6pm, all the Legion of fans are already waiting for Katrina with their FHM copy ready for an autograph.  After several moments of waiting, the people of Transformers Philippines arrived namely Victor, Segagiga, OJ, and of course Mark the man.  I also got the chance of meeting Katrina's Hardcore fan Mach from the US and his girlfriend Arlene.  While waiting for our turn, nagkaroon kami ng pagakaktaon to chat since di na rin ako masyadong nakakatambay sa forums ng Transformers PH.  To be honest, I'm not worthy for these guys because all of them are hardcore Toy Collectors and I hardly understand some things they are discussing.  But I enjoy chatting with them specially with Mach though I almost got nose bleed at muntik na akong maubusan ng English. 

At last got the chance to meet Katrina Halili.  To be honest, I lied to Mach when he ask me if I'm a solid fan of Katrina eversince Starstruck days.  The truth is I use to hate Katrina.  Because of her on screen Maldita image.  I easily get annoyed of her persona.  But some friends of mine told me that katrina is indeed a kind person and yung ganung maldita look niya ay talagang natural lang niya.  Now, I also adore her because of her antagonist role in Marimar Remake as Angelika.  She is indeed very effective in her role and I can say Katrina is already a full grown actress.

After the event, together with the Transformers PH and Mach, we followed Katrina to the car Park for a last chance to meet her.  Hahaha, mga adik ba.  Then after that we all return to Burger King for some bonding moments.

We stayed at the Burger King for almost 2 hours while chatting about Toys, Movies and more Katrina Halili.  Mach also signed my FHM copy.  Weee!!!

After several more minutes the Legion decided to call it a night, we parted ways and went home.  Nagsabay na kami ni OJ sa Bus since taga-Cainta siya at nagkwentuhan na rin kami sa bus.  We talked about More toys and comicbooks.  We even have this discussion about comicbook classics translated to TV series and we both shared our sentiments on some shows they call Super Twins and Zaido.

I bid OJ goodbye as I reach Junction and from there isa pang biyahe pauwi.

Friday Night After Six : 4 Months Later

Friday na naman.  But not like any other Fridays.  Lahat bago.  New Job, new boss, new desk and new things to worry.  Now I can't just play around like what I use to do before when I was inside the Marketing/Channels room.  Now I'm here in the Creative Department.  This is my new world.  The start of another chapter.

Chapter 8 : 4 Months Later

It's almost 6:00pm, Friday.  The whole week is really full of stress and pressure for all of us.  Sometimes, we just want to scream with all our lungs and call it a day.  Tinatapos na lang namin ang ilang kailngang tapusin bago kami umalis ng opisina.

After I finished polishing some work related matters, I stayed for a while and surfed the net.  But it didn't help. Hindi napawi ang pagod na nararamdaman ko kaya I decided to stroll a little bit.  I went to the MSS department.  Lei, Jonat and Mattel are still there.  We have a little chat and Lei offered me food.  Mind you, she is begging me to take it so I accepted it.  Bumalik ako sa puwesto ko para alukin si Hikari pero mayroon na siyang tsnitsibog.  Kaya mag-isa kong nilantakan ang Pizza at Pasta nabinigay ni Lei.

After a while Jonat asked me if I have anything to do tonight because he and Mattel wll be staying in Sidebar to unwind.  Siyempre sinabi ko wala kaya sasama ako sa kanila.  Halos isang linggo yata akong nabakante sa inom.  Kaya kailngan ko ito para makapag-recharge at nakapag-enjoy. 

The rest of us decided to leave as well except for Cams that needs to work late.  Marami pa kasi siyang kailngang tapusin dahil last day na niya ito sa office.  She suggested na iwanan na lang ang susi sa kanya.  Pagkatapos ng ginagawa niya, pupunta siya ng Sidebar para ibigay ang susi.  Pumayag ako and before leaving, I gave her my number in case she can't find me inside the bar.

Mattel and I arrived first in Sidebar while Jonat dropped by 7-11 to buy some cigarettes.  I approached the bar attendant to reserve a table for us while Mattel stayed in the bar.  Jonat arrived and decided to order drinks.  The three of us start chatting and we get along really easy.  After several minutes, we are transfered to our table.  Jonat ordered for more drinks and a pulutan.  We start talking about, theater, dancing, short films and art.  Bago ito ah.  It is really rare to find people with the same interest like mine.  Naisipan din namin na gumawa ng isang short film.  Jonat starts telling surreal stories while Mattel and I listens attentively.  After the story, we make short commentaries and exchange of thoughts.  I enjoyed that conversation and it is really a while since the time I talked about things of my interest with colleagues like Mattel and Jonat.  After talking about film making, we began talking about our past relationships, tulad ng kung nakailang grlfriend/boyfriend na kami or kung paano kami nakipaghiwalay sa mga ex namin.  It sounds that this subject matter is not new to everyone since this is really the most favorite topic in sessions like this.  The only difference is the approach on how we talked about it. Walang masyadong kantyawan, seryoso pero swabe lang.  Hndi stiff, no one of us tried to preach.  Walang nagmamarunong.  Just simply telling the story of past love.  Hndi nagmukhang corny at baduy ang kwentuhan.  Tama lang.

After several hours of drinking and sharing.  We decided to call it a night.  We settled our bills and left Sidebar.  The three of us parted ways in front Discovery Center where Jonat offered Mattel a ride home.

Its exactly 10pm in the evening.  Cams is surprised that I came back.  She is already finished.  She is expecting that we will be in Sidebar till 12 in the midnight.  Natural na kasi sa mga session ang umagahin.  But I told her that 3 hours is enough to release the stress and tension.  I switched all the lights off.  Chineck ko pa ang ilang mga silid.  Baka may nakabukas na unit.  I locked the office doors while cams signed out in the reception.  Pagkatapos noon, sumakay na kami sa elevator pababa.  She offered me a ride to Shaw Blvd in a cab.  In the cab we got a chance to chat a little till someone called her in the phone.  Di ko na siya inistobo.  Pagod na rin ako.  Medyo tipsy na rin.  We reached Shaw blvd.  Bumaba ako ng cab.  I bid farewell to her as she bids back to me. Tumakbo na ang taxi papalayo, sakay ang isang taong di ko na makikita sa opisina mula Lunes.

Friday Night After Six : Freaky Friday

Its Friday again.  Araw ng suweldo.  After a lunch with my officemates, I left for a trip to Makati.  I need to get my check.  Well, i could say na di pa naman ako kinakapos pero overdue na yung check na 'yun.  It took me almost 15 to 20 minutes tops on a cab ride to Makati.  Much earlier than usual.  So I expect that I can go back to work earlier than I expect.

Chapter 7 : Freaky Friday

Pero kung mamalasin ka nga naman.  My check is marked for deposit and I can't get it in cash.  Wala pa akong existing bank account so wala akong paglalagyan ng suweldo ko.  So I have to wait for almost an hour for my checked to be counter signed.

An hour passed.  Ayus!  Nagmadali ako bumaba ng building.  Good thing the bank is just on the other side of the street.  Narating ko agad ang bangko.  The guard told me to just fall in line.  Lalo pa akong napangiti nang makita kong konti pa lamang ang nakapila.  Sinasabi ko na sa sarili ko na, i will be at the office in no time.  Pero halos isang oras din ang lumipas.  Hindi gumalaw ang pila.  Hindi ko na natiis.  Nagtanong na ako sa isang clerk.  Amp!!!  Offline daw ang mga linya nila.  Anak ng!!!  But the head clerk told us that there system will soon go online kaya maghintay na lang daw kami.  After standing there for a couple of minutes, there system is back in line.

Because of those obstructions, sa halip na makabalik ako ng office before 3pm, halos alas-5 na ako ng hapon nakarating.  Siyempre nakakahiya.  Matagal akong nawala.  Ginamit ko 'yung oras ng opisina para sa bagay na walang kinalaman sa company.  i feel so guilty.  Kaya after six, I decided to stay for a while to make up those hours of absence.

Its almost past 7:00pm na ng magkayayaan nang pumunta ng Sidebar.  But everyone decided to take a quick meal first on a nearby fastfood.  After that we go straight to the bar.  Nauna na doon ang iba naming kasama na dumating doon bago pa mag 6pm.  They thought we will not appear that night.  Umupo ako sa upuan at tinungga ko na ang isang beer na walang gumagalaw.  But as I drink my booze, bigla na lang umikot ang paningin ko.  Nag-uumpisa pa lang naman akong uminom kaya malabong lasing ako.  Ilang minuto pa ang lumipas, naramdaman kong nanlalambot na ako.  Freaky and weird pero ganoon talaga yung naramdaman ko noong gabing iyon.  As if I'm completely burned out.

After an hour, I decided to settle my bill.  After drinking two bottles, I felt like I'm getting sick.  Sumabay na ako sa ibang maaga ring umalis.  We parted ways after crossing the alley.  I didn't even bid them goodbye dahil di ko na kayang lumingon sa sobrang sakit ng ulo ko.

Random Encounters and Friday Night After Six crossover : A Musical Weekend

Its raining hard last Friday morning.  Pero kahit gaano pa kalakas ang buhos ng ulan, bumangon pa rin ako to get to work.  Medyo nakakatamad.  Parang hinihila ako ng kama.  Cold breeze is getting inside my bedroom.  Nagmadali akong isara ang bintana, nakita ko ang hagupit ng bagyo.  I think I can't bring my bike.  I checked my budget.  Ok pa naman.  So I decided to ride a taxi to work.

Good thing I brought my mp3 player with me.  Sira ang radio ng FX na nasakyan ko.  No time to switch ride, malakas pa ulan.  So I plugged my earphones and played my usual upbeat playlist to avoid getting bored.

But the gloomy atmosphere outside the taxi really drains my energy.  Hindi ko na namamalayan na inaantok na ako.  Well, medyo late na naman ako natulog kagabi.  No wonder.  It took us almost one and a half hour to reach our destination.  Traffic na rin kasi at karamihan sa mga dadaanan ko, baha.  Buti na lang walang pasok ang mga estudyante.  Kundi mas lalo pa sigurong traffic.

Pagbaba ko ng sinasakyan ko, tumakbo agad ako upang makatawid papunta sa building namin.  Hahaha, di ako nabasa.  Akala ko ok na but when I entered our building, Yikes!!!  Ang haba ng pila sa elevator.  Oh snap.  What do you expect.  Karamihan ay late na rin kaya naipon na ang lahat sa baba.  Pagdating ko sa opisna.  There is no one inside.  Nakalimutan ko.  Its the office's General Assembly.  Oh well.  Ok lang.  Di naman ako kasama dun.  But its really boring when there is no one inside to talk to.  Nakakatamad pa.

So I went out to enjoy na essence of the rain.  Being a water elemental really lifts me up.  I love water.  Dalawang beses na nga akong inabutan ng ulan habang nagdra-drive ng bike.  And guess what?  I like it!!!  Well atleast not the part where my gadgets got wet and my cellphone had nearly touched our trash can.  Dinala ko ulit ang mp3 player ko palabas ng building.  This time, I need some Rainy tunes.

After loitering around the front entrance of the building while enjoying the splash or rain water, umakyat na ako at baka maabutan pa ako ng mga officemates ko. 

Actually, sinikap kong pumasok para makapagtrabaho.  Marami na rin kasing nasayang na araw dahil sa malakas na pag-ulan nitong mga nakaraang araw.  Tapos, wala pang pasok sa Lunes.  Matatambakan ako ng trabaho.  Pero wala pa rin.  Suddenly I've been struck by laziness... again.  I browsed my folders to search for anything to do.  I found my copy of Transformers 1985 movie.  Yun na lang pinanood ko.  Hahaha enjoy.  Pero di pa ako nagtatagal sa pinapanood ko ay nagdatingan na ang mga galing sa General Assembly.  Whoa, no time to close the video.  Huli!!!  Pero sa halip na punahin, wala lang.  Deadma lang,  Nakinood pa yung isa kong friend.

Lunch time came.  Wala nang panahon para bumababa ng building.masyado ring malakas na ang ulan para pumunta pa sa malls o sa mga fastfood para kumain.  Kaya kumita na naman si Manang ng extra.  Hindi na rin kasi ako masyadong bumibili sa kanya.  But I guess baka sa susunod ganun na gawin ko.  Malaki ang na-save ko sa pagbili ng murang lunch.  Wala namang pinagkaiba sa binibili kong mahal.  Ang mahalaga naman mabusog.

Nakatulog ako bago mag-lunch.  My officemate and friend of mine woke me up to take our lunch.  Bonding moments na naman sa pantry.  Hindi na mawawala ang kuwentuhan.  Mostly tungkol sa bagyo.  Hahahaha, bakit kaya?  Oh well.  Balik trabaho agad pagkatapos ng lunch.  Bakas na sa lahat ng nasa room namin ang pagka-bored.  Inantok na naman ako.  Kaya sinuot ko ang headset ko and I played the soundtrack of the upcoming Disney Original Movie, High School Musical 2.

I do some polishing to my work.  Cleaned up some emails.  And visited some sites I didn't visit this past few days.  I got a message from a friend inviting me to watch a movie this monday.  I gave a 50-50 answer toher and told her that I'm much interested if we will be watching Hairspray instead.  Then after an hour.  She replied to me and told me that she have complimentary tickets for Hairspray Premiere this coming Tuesday.  Oh snap!!!  Gusto kong tumalon sa kinauupuan ko pero hindi puwede.  Mayayanig ang buong office sa gagawin ko.  Pero sobrang thank you talaga ako doon sa sinabi niya.

Episode 6 : A Musical Weekend

The clock struck 5:00 pm. nagyayaya na ang mga toma boys para uminom.  Waaahh.  Di pa puwede may hinihintay pa ako.  I'm still waiting for my friend to get here and hand me over the complimentary tickets.  Kaya kahit gusto ko nang uminom, nagtiis pa ako ng mga ilang sandali pa para maghintay.  After atleast an hour, she arrived at para akong bata na tuwang-tuwa nang inabot niya sa akin ang ticket.  Hahahahaha.  Yehey!!!  I have a ticket, I have a ticket.  Weeeeee.

Pagkatapos noon ay inayos ko na ang desk ko at nagpaalam na sa mga naiwan pa sa office para humabol sa inuman. 

Inaasahan ko, konti lang ang tao sa Sidebar.  Its still raining hard and a storm is still coming.  Pero nagulat ako nang makitang puno pa rin ang bar.  Sabagay, mas masarap uminom kung malamig.  Apat lang kaming barako nung gabing iyon.  Maybe mas pinili na lang umuwi ng iba pa naming officemates dahil ayaw mastranded pauwi.  Ako?  Wala akong pakialam.  Ilang weeks na rin akong di umiinom.  Kailangang bumawi. 

Movies, childhood TV shows and wild stag parties.  Iyan ang laman ng usapan.  Not to mention the usual subjects we discuss every Friday Night After Six.  Maaaring pare-pareho na nga lang ang mga agenda ng inuman sa office pero what matters most is the bonding, iyong sama-sama kaming nag-iinuman habang malakas na tumatawa especially this moment where rain is pouring outside.  Its just like I'm feeling the warmth of there company.  Hahaha.  Parang anririnig ko yung kanta ng APO sa background.

Friday Night After Six : The Fellowship of the Meat

Been very busy these past few days because of work load and I don't have any clear mind to write a decent blog entry.  Another day just started and I'm taking a short break from work just to continue telling my story, my adventure and yet another Friday Night experience.

Episode 5 : The Fellowship of the Meat

I left office early because I have to meet somebody so we can watch the latest Harry Potter flick.  As expected, she is late.  I went to the nearest Toy shop to check some Transformers toy and other merchandise to kill some time.  After several minutes of window shopping, I returned to the meeting place and there she is.  We ate first on a fastfood while waiting for the screening time.  We arrived at the cinema several minutes earlier than schedule, just in time for the trailers.

I really expect more from this film.  I haven't read the book but I know the movie is a poor adaptation of its novel counterpart.  On the other hand major characters such as Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) and Harry Potter himself (Danielle Radcliffe)  exhibits good impression in the film and the young wizard improved greatly compared to his earlier films.  I left the cinema very dissappointed.  I think a bottle of beer is enough to take away the angst in my chest.

After a five minute walk in Ortigas, I arrived at Sidebar, our official tambayan but unfortunately my officemates are no longer there.  I texted one of them expecting that she is still partying somewhere else.  She texted back after quite a few minutes saying that she is in this place in Xavierville.  I immediately took a cab and texted her back saying that II'm on my way.

The first time I saw the entrance of the place, I thought it was some kind of a high class resto.  I entered the premises and after a few walks, the place' real identity is revealed.  Bunch of people, mostly college students from nearby universities and office people who's enjoying the nostalgia of being a student once again.  I found my officemates in a small table, drinking beer and eating grilled stuff while chatting with the usual topic plus the typical kulitan and tawanan session.

After three hours of chitchat and countless yak yak, two of my officemates left.  I on the otherhand decided to stay.   My officemate's clique arrived and we joined there group.  I've met two new buds from my officemate's clique.  One that I only saw once and often online and the other one which seems to be an interesting guy with plenty of stories to tell.   Good thing I decided to stay or I will stay pissed all night because of my dissappointment from that movie I watched.  Too bad the only girl in the group,  is already not in the mood and she is hardly enjoying the night. 

We decided to call it a night when we feel that Bungee Jumping boy is already drunk.  Few bottles more and we will end up going to Baguio against our will. 

The four of us went home together in his car, drunk and half wasted but undoubtly satisfied and blissful on each other's company.

Friday Night After Six : Trust, Promises and Secrets

I promised to go home Early but I guess that didn't work.  After the management allowed everybody to go home because of the smoke problem in the office, we are asked to join a little get together in a nearby resto.  Bakit naman hindi, tutal maaga pa naman.

Episode 4 : Trust, Promises and Secrets

Hindi naman kami nakaalis agad ng opisina kahit pinauwi kami ng maaga.  There are so much work to finish before the week ends.  Kaya we stay at the office a little more hours.  Nang dumating kami sa resto, patapos na silang mag-inuman.  So we thought na makakauwi na kami nang maaga.

But one of us suggested to have another round in the bar close to the resto.  At first we resist.  Hahahaha, but we don't want to dissappoint our friends and I do really want to drink.   Ang kailngan ko lang ipangako sa sarili ko ay hindi malasing dahil gigising pa ako nang maaga kinabukasan to attend my friend's wedding. 

Tulad naman ng dati, the night is fun.  Kuwentuhan tungkol sa buhay-buhay and I got to know things na hindi ko pa alam before.  Another night of the battle of the sexes.  Dehado nga lang ang isa kong friend dahil nag-iisa lang siyang girl.  I tried to defend her sometimes para naman di siya kawawa.  But certainly there are things that draws line between girls and boys.  But still, nauwi pa rin sa malakas na halakhakan ang gabing iyon. 

Marami ring sikreto ang nalantad nang mga sandaling iyon.  Mga nakakagulat na rebelasyon.  Sabi nga ni Boy Abunda, "Dito ninyo lang maririnig 'yan".  We all promised na walang lalabas sa mga nalaman namin.  Everything should remain a secret.  And I Trust them.

After three rounds of drinks, we decided to call it a night.  I really need to go home na.  Pagbaba ng bar, nag-kukulitan pa rin kami na parang mga bata.  Nagpaalaman na.  The only girl in the group took a cab and all of us guys parted ways.

Episode 4.5 : Wedding Day

Gosh!  It's already 8:00 am at maliligo pa ako.  I need to be on the church by 8:30am to rehears my piece.  Nakarating ako eksakto alas otso y medya.  Pero sa pagmamadali ko naiwan ko ang clearbook ko.  All my notes are there.  I really promise next time not to stay very late if I have an early morning appointment.  Buti na lang kahit paapano, kabisado ko ang piyesa ko.  Nagpractice kami ng ka-duet ko.  2 main songs, 2 reserba at 2 kasama ang choir.  Not bad. 

Nag-umpisa na ang kasal.  The organist played the Bridal March.  After the Entourage, the bride came walking holding her father's hand.  Kahit sa malayo, nakikita ko ang pagtulo sa luha ng bride.  She is indeed very happy.  Halos pitong taon na rin kasi silang magkasintahan at sa wakas, narito na ang araw na hinihintay nilang dalawa.  Nang marating ng bride at ama nito ang groom, iniabot ng ama ang kamay ng kanyang anak sa kamay ng mapapangasawa nito.  And for the last time before she get married, the bride hugged her dad tight.

Nag-umpisa ang seremonyas ng kasal.  The officiating minister that day read some passages in the bible that tackles things about marriage.  After the readings.  The two performed the exchange of vows.  Tulad kanina, hindi na napigil naming mga kaibigan ng ikinakasal na maging emotional.  Maybe because alam na nam\in ang pinagdaanan nila kaya natutuwa kami ngayon ay naganap na ang kanilang matagal nang pinapangarap.  Hindi ko rin maiwasan na mag-imagine.  What if I'm the one being wed.  Siguro masarap ang pakiramdam.  But I think, matagal pa 'yun mangyayari.

After the wedding.  We went to the reception.  Ito ang paborito ko sa mga kasalan.  'Yung kainan.  Hahahahaha.  Umarkila rin sila ng banda that really plays good music.  Bago matapos ang party, nagsalita ang mag-asawa at nagpasalamat.  They thanked all of the people that became part of this wonderful day. 

Bago ako umalis, nilapitan ko ang mga bagong kasal at niyakap ko sila.

Friday Night After Six : Passing by Route 196

Isang araw na naman ang natapos.  Well, kung tutuusin walang pasok kanina.  Wala lang, trip lang siguro ng office na papasukin kami.  Pumasok na rin ako.  Bukod sa may dagdag sa suweldo may libre pang lunch.  Tinapos ko rin yung isa ko pang sideline kanina.  Kaya nakakapagod din.  Pagkatapos ng araw, nanood ulit kami ng friend ko ng sine.  Tama gastos na naman.  Tapos I'm keep on complaining pag kinapos na ako ng pera.  Gulo ko rin ano?  Pagkatapos ng palabas umuwi na ako at heto na nga nasa harap na naman ako ng computer writing my blog.

Episode 3 : Passing by Route 196

Badtrip ako nung Friday dahil delayed na naman ang suweldo.  Kasalanan ko rin naman at sinaid ko ang pera ko.  Sapat na lang ang pera para panggasolina ng motor.  I signed out na sa office at pinindot ko na ang elevator.  I get annoyed kasi ang tagal dumating ng elevator.  Naabutan tuloy ako ng mga friends ko.  As usual, Friday Night gimik.  Niyaya nila ako.  Gusto kong sumama pero talagang wala na akong pera.  To end my problem, one of my friends offered to lend me money.  Sino ba naman ako para tumanggi.  Party time!!!

It was 3 of us on the car, chatting while on the way to our destination.  Habang nasa biyahe napagtripan naming ilagay sa hot sit ang friend namin na nagdra-drive.  Well he got an interesting story and very inspiring too.

We arrived at the destination.  Route 196.  Maaga pa kaya di pa masyadong matao.  Nakakuha agad kami ng magandang puwesto.  Tulad ng dati kuwentuhan, kantiyawan, asaran.   Hanggang sa magkayayaan na tumira ng Tequilla.  That is the go signal.  The number of people starts to multiply.  Ang kaninang maluwag na place ay naging masikip.  Nag-umpisang mag-ayos ang unang band.  

Unti-unting nagkabuhay ang loob ng bar nang mag-umpisa nang tumugtog The Dawn.   Di na nakatiis ang dalawa kong friend na nagmistulang mga groupies.  Well, I also don't want to be left behind kaya nakisayaw na rin ako and its really fun, nakakapagod nga lang.  I enjoyed the music played and the bands present namely Space flower show, Chillitees, The Ronnies, Juan Pablo Dream and another band that I forgot the name really draws the crowd's energy out of them... literally.

When we get tired we go back to our table to have a drink.  May mga dumating pang mga friends na sumunod mula sa kani-kanilang lakad.  Another shot of Tequilla completely raised my body's temperature. Mabilis na lumipas ang oras.  Hindi namin namamalayan na 3:00 na ng umaga.  We decided to call it a night dahil pagod na rin ang karamihan sa amin at may amats na.

Hahahaha.

Tigas din ng ulo ko.  Lampas alas-dose na gising pa ako.  Gigising pa ako nang maaga.  Trabaho na naman.

Friday Night After Six : Soaring Free and Breaking the Status Quo

Last Friday, I joined some of my friends to watch a stage play performance.  As we arrived in Meralco theater, a lot of people are already waiting for the show to start.  Most of the people are kids, die hard fans of the show now adapted to a stage musical.  This is not the first time I watch High School Musical on stage.  Last February 23, I watched Ateneo Blue Repertory's adaptation directed by Chari Arespacochaga and starred by the beautiful VJ Karel Marquez as Gabriella Montez and Shark Alonzo as Troy Bolton.  Blue Rep's version is quite fresh because literally this the very first time the popular Disney Original Movie is adopted to theater in Philippines.  Shark and Karel's performance are exceptional and incomparable and the production is well delivered.

Now Stages and Trumphets Playshop and in the direction of the talented Audie Gemora, another adaptation of the musical materialized this time to be played by kid wonders Sam Conception as Troy Bolton and Cheska Ortega as Gabriella Montez.  We all enjoyed the show.   Reminiscing memories of High school life where we are literally turned into high school students again.

After the show, the high bequeathed still dwells on our young hearts.  As we walked towards the car, we are still singing the songs and trying to mimic the dance steps and scenes.   Even our rakista friend also enjoyed the songs and now he is looking for guitar chords so that he can play them with us.

That night is really crazy.  Singing and laughing in the middle of traffic.  One of the happiest and fanatical day I ever have with my friends.  Just like those old days.  I feel we are really soaring high on the skies.  Breaking through the barriers but at the same time accepting who we really are and most important of them all, enjoying life and being happy.

I wish I can turn back time and go back to those days.  But we are already here.  All we can do now is to face what is here and look back for inspiration. 

Friday Night After Six

11am na ako nagising.  Sakit ng ulo ko.  Naparami yata ako kagabi.  Pagkatapos ng isang mahabang araw ng Biyernes. Paglampas ng alas-6, kayayaan na.  Tinapos ang lahat ng trabaho.  Konting internet surf, batchi na.  Tatlo lang kami noong una.  Stanby muna habang naghihintay ng puwesto habang unti-unting dumarating ang iba naming kasama.  Ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na makakuwentuhan ang ilan sa mga katrabaho ko.  Iyong iba kasi, ngayon lang sumama, iyong iba naman, hindi ko pa masyadong close dati.

Hindi naging boring ang gabing iyon.  Kuwentuhan, kantsawan at kulitan.  Not to mention yung diskusyon ng guys and girls.  Its a night of Battle of the Sexes but in the end just like what I expect, both parties meet half way. 

Its a simple but fun night and I'm really looking forward for another Friday Night after Six.

Hay, Movie Marathon nga muna ako, baka sakaling mawala Hangover ko.
